Finally what does the parent dream of? Each and every parent in this universe has only one dream of getting their kids to grow up smart. They wish that their kids should always look confident and have a positive attitude which will help them achieve success. But not many parents can confirm that their kids have a positive attitude. I am sure many parents on the other hand would confess that though their kids are smart and independent, yet something lacks somewhere. The positive attitude is missing. Now why does that happen? To be frank, there are many reasons for the same. There is presently so much negativity around on how hard you try, your kids will fail to develop positive attitude in themselves. Few other factors include:
- Development of destructive thinking
- Atmosphere at home
- Constant criticism from parents
- Parent's negative approach
- Lack of freedom
- Over – protective nature of parents
- Psychological problems
These are just few that I could think of, but there may be many more factors which may fail to develop positive attitude in children. The atmosphere in one's house plays a major role when it comes to developing positive attitude. If the people living inside a house are themselves negative and the family is more into constant criticism, then the children too develop the same attitude unknowingly. If any parent, especially the father continues to criticize his children constantly then children fail to develop positive attitude. Parent's negative approach has an adverse effect on the children and it hampers their growth. The "over-perfectionist" standards discourage the kids and fails to develop positive attitude in children. Parent's fail from their part and children suffer for parent's mistake. But then, one can't just blame the parent, even psychological problem can come in the way of development of positive attitude.

If parents have had unsatisfying circumstances in life their behaviour patterns change and they get more sarcastic or negative about the way one should live his life. Constant criticism from such parents may actually lower the self-esteem of a child and fail to develop positive attitude in children. In fact parents can try and change the situation by acting as responsible adults and behaving in a more sensible way. Everyone have their own choices and one can help his child develop a positive attitude so that they wouldn't repeat the same mistakes in life and opt for better choices. One's home should always be full of laughter and happiness which plays key factors in boosting confidences and developing positive attitude in children.

Here's what you can do: When a child fails to win a trophy in a particular competition, don't criticize. On the contrary tell your child, that you are proud parent for the their kid's participation and assure that he/she gave their best shot.
