In English we have 26 letters and in German too, but are different in pronunciation! The language has some special letters / characters. If we count them, then there will be 30 letters in total. There is a character called "etzett" which represents voiceless double "s" (ss). German has three umlaut vowels. Now count them together (26 letters + 1 "etzett"+ 3 umlaut vowels) =30 letters
