We have to be careful while talking with children

I had been to my elder sister house and had the chance to play with her 7 year old grandson and in the process I made a paper bird which can be made to fly like situation by doing actions with our hands. Though initially he was excited on seeing a flying bird stay put on the hand, I asked him how is the bird. He shot back and said it is the non living thing and cannot be called as the bird. But I said it is flying and can be called as bird. the child said it may be moved with your hands and does not have the life of its own. What a knowledge at UKG level.?

We are under impression that children have little knowledge about things and they will learn when we will teach them or send them to school. Here, we are completely wrong, children are so much more receptive and focussed with each thing they do and they analyse so much more that we cannot imagine at our age.

We can have experience but we should be careful not to underestimate the children, no matter their age.
I observe my daughter who is just 3 year old but she amazes me with her mannerism and sophistication that I just wonder from where did she get all these skills.

She asks so many questions that many times leaves me puzzled but, I try to give her logical and real answers rather than avoiding her or answering with some made up stories

Must be your sister's grandson had a very good upbringing that made him so observant.

Please encourage your child to ask many questions and answer them patiently. Parents has to be patient in this regard.
