Do every work, Physical or Intellectual, with love and zeal

Work is not just physical of manual. There is intellectual or mental work, too. Some consider manual work inferior to intellectual work. It is not right. Manual work is equally important. Without work, no family can survive and no country can prosper. Only when everyone works, prosperity is possible.

We have the classic example of Japan. "When Japan was reduced to ashes I the Second World War, the Japanese did not lose hope. Every Japanese began to work hard. And in a period of Twenty Five years, their country rose to become one of the richest in the world".

"Iswar Chandra Vidhyasagar was a great social reformer. He was a highly learned person. He gave due respect to every work. He never looked down upon any work. Once he went to receive a visitor arriving by train. He waited for him on the railway platform. When the train arrived, Iswar started to look for the visitor. He heard someone shouting for a coolie. Since there was no coolie at the station, the person began to abuse. He was very angry. Noticing the person's rude behaviour, Iswar offered to help him.

In fact that person had come to meet Iswar. Since he had never met Iswar before, he did not recognise him. Iswar carried his luggage to the horse carriage waiting outside. The person thanked him and offered to pay him for his service. But Iswar declined to accept it. The person told him that he had come to meet Iswar Chandra Vidhyasagar. He asked Iswar if he could help him meet Iswar. Iswar Said, 'I am Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar'. The person felt greatly ashamed and sought his forgiveness".

Every work is noble. Nobility comes only when a work is done properly. We should do every work with respect and love. This is how we can show our love for God. Work is Worship.
