What is an adverb?
The action words says what a person or thing does. They are called verbs. And some words that add something to the meaning of these verbs are called adverbs.
Adverb of manner:
How the action is done?
1. The deer runs fast.
The word fast says how the deer runs.
2. The children are singing loudly.
The word loudly says how the children are singing.
In the first example, the word fast goes with the verb runs and adds something to its
meaning. In the second, the word loudly adds to the meaning of the verb are singing. The words fast and loudly are called Adverbs.
Adverb of time:
When the action is done?
We returned yesterday.
He will come tomorrow.
This types of adverbs answer the question "WHEN". For example:
When did you return?- We returned yesterday.
Adverb of place:
Where the action is done?
My uncle lives there.
Come here.
These adverbs answer the question "Where"?
