How to Draw a Beal Leaves


In this article you are going to follow some steps to draw beal leaves or bilva patra. Beal leaves are offered in natural bunch of three to Lord Shiva. Beal is also known as golden apple. It is a tree originated from India and has some medicinal uses applicable in the diseases related to heat.

How to draw beal leaves or Bilva Patra:-


As I earlier stated beal leaves or Bilva patra is offered to Lord Shiva. Let us draw this. Follow the steps below to draw this.

Step 1:- Draw a standing line to draw beal leave in verticle position.


Note:- This is main line and it will decide the orientation of the drawing. If you wan to draw the leaves in some inclined position then you can draw this line in that position.

Step 2:- Draw two lines as shown in the figure below.


Note:- The angle between adjacent line and main line should be more than 40 degrees.

Step 3:- Beal leaves are simple leaves. Let us draw middle leaf as shown below.


Step 4:- Draw the adjacent leaves as shown below.


Step 5:- Now colour the leaves as per your choice.


Tips for colouring


  • Use different shades of greens to colour the leaves.
  • Just outline the leaves with a darkest shade of green.
  • For darkest shade of green take blue and yellow colour in proportion of 3:1. (Water colour or oil pastel)
  • Then give slant strokes of light green shade e.g. parrot green from middle line towards outside in upward direction.
  • For parrot green shade take equal parts of yellow and blue. (Water colour or oil pastel)
  • Now to take dark shade of green e. g. solid green and give slant strokes from outer line towards central line in downward direction.
  • To get solid green add 2 parts of blue and 1 part of yellow. (Water colour or oil pastel)
